1. Salvation Comes by Faith in Christ Alone<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Bible is unambiguous:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cFor by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.\u201d<\/strong> (Ephesians 2:8\u20139)<\/em><\/p>\n

Salvation is God\u2019s gift received by repentance and faith<\/strong> in the Lord Jesus Christ\u2014not by any sign, work, or spiritual manifestation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When the Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas what to do to be saved, their answer was clear:<\/p>\n

There was no mention of speaking in tongues.<\/p>\n

2. The Purpose of Tongues in the New Testament<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Tongues first appeared in Acts 2 as a miraculous sign<\/strong> that the Holy Spirit had come and that the gospel was for all nations.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.\u201d<\/strong> (Acts 2:4)<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

In Acts 10, when Cornelius and his household spoke in tongues, it was a confirmation to the Jewish believers<\/strong> that Gentiles had received the same Spirit (Acts 10:44\u201346).<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tongues served as a sign of inclusion<\/strong>\u2014not as a condition for salvation.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

3. Not All Believers Spoke in Tongues<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Paul\u2019s teaching to the Corinthians removes any doubt:<\/p>\n

\u201cDo all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?\u201d<\/strong> (1 Corinthians 12:30)<\/em><\/p>\n

The obvious answer is no<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

4. The True Evidence of Salvation: The Fruit of The Holy Spirit<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The evidence of genuine salvation is not tongues, but transformation<\/strong>\u2014the fruit of the Spirit.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.\u201d<\/strong> (Galatians 5:22\u201323)<\/em><\/p>\n

Speaking in tongues may be an experience of some believers, but a changed heart<\/strong>\u2014one that repents, loves, forgives, and walks in obedience\u2014is the undeniable mark of salvation.<\/p>\n

Many people can shout in tongues but cannot forgive<\/strong>, cannot control anger<\/strong>, or cannot say \u201cI\u2019m sorry.\u201d<\/strong>
If the Holy Spirit truly dwells in a person, His fruit\u2014not just His gifts\u2014will be visible.<\/p>\n

5. Why the \u201cTongues-as-Proof\u201d Doctrine Is Dangerous<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    It Creates Two Classes of Christians<\/strong> \u2013 those who \u201chave\u201d and those who \u201chave not.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    It Produces Pride or Condemnation<\/strong> \u2013 some boast of experiences while others feel inadequate or unsaved.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    It Shifts Focus from Christ to Experience<\/strong> \u2013 salvation becomes measured by emotion rather than by faith and obedience.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    It Distorts the Gospel<\/strong> \u2013 turning a free gift into a condition.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Bible never teaches that speaking in tongues\u2014or any other spiritual gift\u2014is required for salvation or proof of receiving the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n

    6. The True Seal of Salvation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Paul wrote:<\/p>\n

    \u201cIn Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.\u201d<\/strong> (Ephesians 1:13)<\/em><\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/p>\n

    Notice: the sealing of the Spirit happens \u201chaving believed\u201d<\/strong>\u2014not \u201chaving spoken in tongues.\u201d Every believer who truly repents and trusts Christ is indwelt and sealed by the Holy Spirit at the moment of faith.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Speaking in tongues was a genuine spiritual gift in the early Church, but it was never given as the universal sign of salvation.<\/strong>
    The truest evidence of being saved is not what comes out of the mouth but what comes out of the heart\u2014a life transformed by the Holy Spirit and marked by obedience to Jesus Christ.<\/strong><\/p>\n
