Though we were created for fellowship with God, sin has broken that relationship\u2014yet today, if we recognize where we truly stand, turn from our sins, and return to God through Jesus Christ, we can experience forgiveness, purpose, and a future filled with hope.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

(This article is Part 2 of a 3-part series entitled \u201cWhere Did I Come From?<\/a> Where Am I Now? Where Am I Going?\u201d<\/a><\/strong>\u2014a journey that explores the deep, existential questions of life and explains God’s purpose for humanity.)<\/em><\/p>\n

In Part 1, we explored the question, \u201cWhere Did I Come From?\u201d<\/em> and discovered that humanity was created by God for the purpose of perfect fellowship with Him. We were designed to walk with God, live under His care, and reflect His glory. But sin shattered that fellowship, and the world as we know it became broken\u2014just like many of our lives.<\/p>\n

For some, that brokenness has left deep scars.
Your past may be filled with regrets, pain, rejection, or even unspeakable mistakes. Maybe you\u2019ve done things\u2014or had things done to you\u2014that make you feel unworthy, ashamed, or disqualified. But no matter how dark your past has been, it does not have to define your present. It certainly doesn\u2019t have to control your future.<\/p>\n

Now we come to a crucial checkpoint in the journey.<\/p>\n

This is not a casual article. This is a moment to stop, reflect, and ask: Where am I now?<\/strong>
Where is God in my life? Where am I in His eyes? Where do I stand with others? With my calling? With my identity? With my past and my future?<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take this soul inventory together.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

1. Where Is God in Your Life?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

This is the most personal question\u2014and only you<\/strong> can answer it.<\/p>\n

In Psalm 14<\/em> (and echoed in Psalm 53<\/em>), we are given a sobering view of the human heart. The Bible says:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fool has said in his heart, \u2018There is no God.\u2019 They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> (Psalm 14:1\u20133)<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is God\u2019s observation\u2014not man\u2019s opinion.<\/p>\n

He searched to see if anyone truly sought Him, but instead He saw rebellion. Humanity turned away. No one, by default, seeks after God on their own.<\/p>\n

\n

Now let me ask you: Where is God in your life?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Are you seeking Him? Are you recognizing Him in your daily choices? Do you acknowledge Him in everything that you do\u2014or have you been living life without even giving Him a thought?<\/p>\n

How far is God from your mind? Or\u2026 do you even mind Him at all? Do you know<\/strong> who He is? Do you know His will<\/strong>? Do you obey<\/strong> His commandments? Do you talk<\/strong> to Him?<\/p>\n

This is the essence of sin<\/strong>:
Sin is the exercise of one\u2019s free will in turning away from God\u2014choosing to reject Him, ignore Him, disobey His commands, and live apart from His will and presence.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Are you still in that state?<\/p>\n

Friend, you need God.
He is not just a distant figure in a book or a name we utter during prayer. He is your Creator.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> (Psalm 100:3)<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

He is your Sustainer<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> (Colossians 1:17)<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

He is your Provider<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cNevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> (Acts 14:17)<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

He gives you life\u2014and He is<\/strong> your life.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWithout Me you can do nothing.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> (John 15:5)<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not just a theological statement\u2014it\u2019s a truth that applies to your relationships, your health, your work, your future, your eternity.<\/p>\n

And most importantly\u2014it applies to your eternal life.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> (John 17:3)<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Eternal life is not merely about going to heaven\u2014it\u2019s about knowing God<\/strong>. Not knowing about Him, but knowing Him personally.
It is a restored relationship with the One who made you\u2014a life lived in His presence, under His guidance, filled with His joy.<\/p>\n

That relationship begins now<\/strong>, not just after death.<\/p>\n

So if you\u2019ve been living far from Him, without really knowing Him, today is the day to change that.
He invites you to come. To know Him. To walk with Him.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

2. What Is Your Stand Before God?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Let\u2019s get even more serious. The Bible is clear about our condition:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cFor all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> (Romans 3:23)<\/p>\n


\u201cThere is none righteous, no, not one.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> (Romans 3:10)<\/p>\n


\u201cThe wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> (Romans 6:23)<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

That means no one<\/strong> measures up to God\u2019s holy standard. We have all failed. We have all disobeyed. We have all gone our own way. To be a sinner<\/strong> means to live in rebellion against God\u2014to turn away from His will, His Word, and His presence.<\/p>\n

A sinner lives disconnected from the purpose of God. They may live by their own rules, pursue their own dreams, and justify their own actions\u2014but at the end of the day, they are separated from the Source of life and truth.<\/p>\n

Are you a sinner? <\/strong>(See also “Am I a Sinner?”<\/strong><\/a>)<\/p>\n

But while we are still sinners, here is the good news: Our sins can still be forgiven<\/strong>. There is hope. There is a way back. That way is through returning to God<\/strong> and placing your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ<\/strong>. (See also: “How Can I be Forgiven of my Sins?”<\/strong><\/a>)<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why, although everyone is a sinner, there are generally two types of sinners<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

a. The Forgiven (The Repented)<\/h5>\n

These are those who heard God\u2019s call\u2014and responded. They admitted their sin and they decided to return to God. They believed in Jesus Christ and surrendered their lives to Him.<\/p>\n


\u201cTherefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> (Romans 5:1)<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

These are the people who are no longer under condemnation. They are at peace with God. Their future is secure in His presence. They are still imperfect, but they now walk in grace, guided by the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

b. The Unforgiven (The Unrepented)<\/strong><\/h5>\n

These are those who continue to reject God\u2019s invitation. They may appear religious, successful, or even kind\u2014but if they have not returned to God through Jesus, they remain in spiritual darkness.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” <\/strong>(John 3:17)<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> (John 3:36)<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

God does not want anyone to remain in this state. But He will not force you to love Him or follow Him. If this is where you are today, know this:
God will forgive you<\/strong>\u2014if you return to Him<\/strong>. But the decision is yours. (See also: “How Can I Return to God?”<\/strong><\/a>)<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

3. What Is the Condition of Your Life?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Jesus didn\u2019t just come to forgive your sins\u2014He came to give you life. A real life. A meaningful, abundant life.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> (John 10:10)<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

That doesn\u2019t mean you\u2019ll become rich or famous. But it means your life will be full<\/strong>\u2014full of purpose, full of joy, full of peace, full of love. These are not found in possessions but in His presence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When Jesus is your Lord:<\/p>\n
