Test All Teachings \u2014 Not Just Accept Everything You Hear<\/h4>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1610\" data-end=\"1687\"><strong data-start=\"1610\" data-end=\"1658\"><em data-start=\"1612\" data-end=\"1656\">&#8220;Test all things; hold fast what is good.&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><br data-start=\"1658\" data-end=\"1661\" \/>(<strong data-start=\"1662\" data-end=\"1686\">1 Thessalonians 5:21<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1689\" data-end=\"1894\">This connects with the first point:<br data-start=\"1724\" data-end=\"1727\" \/>Many people <strong data-start=\"1739\" data-end=\"1779\">only accept what their preacher says<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1785\" data-end=\"1839\">immediately dismiss anything that sounds different<\/strong> \u2014 even if the new teaching might actually be biblical.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1896\" data-end=\"2076\">They do not <strong data-start=\"1908\" data-end=\"1932\">exert effort to test<\/strong> what is true.<br data-start=\"1946\" data-end=\"1949\" \/>Many are simply <strong data-start=\"1965\" data-end=\"1976\">fanatic<\/strong> to their group and teachings, refusing to genuinely investigate when something inconsistent arises.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2078\" data-end=\"2189\">\ud83d\uded1 <strong data-start=\"2081\" data-end=\"2189\">The loyalty of a true believer must be to the Word of God \u2014 not to a preacher, a church, or a tradition.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2196\" data-end=\"2253\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"2196\" data-end=\"2253\">3. Walk with the Holy Spirit \u2014 and Trust His Guidance<\/h4>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2255\" data-end=\"2406\">The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth.<br data-start=\"2294\" data-end=\"2297\" \/><strong data-start=\"2297\" data-end=\"2387\"><em data-start=\"2299\" data-end=\"2385\">&#8220;However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth.&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><br data-start=\"2387\" data-end=\"2390\" \/>(<strong data-start=\"2391\" data-end=\"2405\">John 16:13<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2408\" data-end=\"2515\">True believers are <strong data-start=\"2427\" data-end=\"2457\">indwelt by the Holy Spirit<\/strong>, and one of His ministries is to <strong data-start=\"2491\" data-end=\"2509\">warn and guide<\/strong> them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2517\" data-end=\"2746\">\u2705 <strong data-start=\"2519\" data-end=\"2659\">If you are sincerely seeking God and studying His Word, the Holy Spirit will definitely alert you when something is wrong in a teaching.<\/strong><br data-start=\"2659\" data-end=\"2662\" \/>He will stir your heart, causing discomfort or prompting you to investigate further.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2748\" data-end=\"2839\">The Spirit never leads people into lies \u2014 He always points to the truth found in Scripture.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2748\" data-end=\"2839\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"301\" data-end=\"376\">4. Stay in a Bible-Preaching Church That Honors the Word Systematically<\/h4>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"378\" data-end=\"462\">Being part of a healthy, Bible-preaching community is vital \u2014 <strong data-start=\"440\" data-end=\"462\">but be discerning.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"464\" data-end=\"668\">Many groups honestly believe they are Bible-preaching churches, yet they mostly focus on <strong data-start=\"553\" data-end=\"585\">topical, selective preaching<\/strong>, picking and choosing verses that fit their themes, and avoiding difficult truths.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"670\" data-end=\"764\">Often, instead of building their theology based entirely on the clear teaching of Scripture,<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"765\" data-end=\"954\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"767\" data-end=\"954\"><strong data-start=\"767\" data-end=\"854\">they squeeze the Word of God to fit into their pre-existing theology or traditions.<\/strong><br data-start=\"854\" data-end=\"857\" \/><strong data-start=\"859\" data-end=\"954\">They make the Bible serve their beliefs, rather than submitting their beliefs to the Bible.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"956\" data-end=\"983\"><strong data-start=\"956\" data-end=\"983\">Look for a church that:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"984\" data-end=\"1157\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"984\" data-end=\"1020\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"986\" data-end=\"1020\">Preaches the whole counsel of God,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1021\" data-end=\"1103\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1023\" data-end=\"1103\">Systematically studies <strong data-start=\"1046\" data-end=\"1102\">book by book, chapter by chapter, and verse by verse<\/strong>,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1104\" data-end=\"1157\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1106\" data-end=\"1157\">And prioritizes sound doctrine over emotional hype.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1159\" data-end=\"1296\">A true biblical church is one that <strong data-start=\"1194\" data-end=\"1244\">lets the Word of God speak in its full context<\/strong> \u2014 not one that forces Scripture to fit human ideas.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5ae0d5d elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"5ae0d5d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8f1ea6e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8f1ea6e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 data-start=\"606\" data-end=\"648\">The Dangers of Embracing a False Gospel<\/h3>\n<h4 data-start=\"474\" data-end=\"511\">1. A False Gospel Cannot Save<\/h4>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"513\" data-end=\"754\">The Apostle Paul warns in Galatians 1:6\u20139 that turning to a different gospel is turning away from the grace of Christ.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"513\" data-end=\"754\"><strong data-start=\"634\" data-end=\"665\">A false gospel cannot save.<\/strong><br data-start=\"665\" data-end=\"668\" \/>Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. (<strong data-start=\"733\" data-end=\"752\">Ephesians 2:8\u20139<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1364\" data-end=\"1598\"><strong data-start=\"1364\" data-end=\"1428\">The tragedy of false gospels is that they cloud the only way<\/strong>, making salvation almost impossible for their followers \u2014 not because God is unwilling to save, but because people are trapped in lies that block their way to the truth.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1727\" data-end=\"1786\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"1727\" data-end=\"1786\">2. False Gospels Lead to Spiritual Bondage and Fear<\/h4>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1788\" data-end=\"1921\">False teachings often impose legalistic requirements or emotional manipulation.<br data-start=\"1867\" data-end=\"1870\" \/>They instill deep <strong data-start=\"1888\" data-end=\"1920\">fear in the hearts of people<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1922\" data-end=\"2079\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1922\" data-end=\"1969\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1924\" data-end=\"1969\">Fear of losing salvation over small failures,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1970\" data-end=\"2006\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1972\" data-end=\"2006\">Fear of displeasing human leaders,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2007\" data-end=\"2079\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2009\" data-end=\"2079\">Fear of being <strong data-start=\"2023\" data-end=\"2041\">excommunicated<\/strong> from their church or religious group.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2081\" data-end=\"2177\">Instead of freedom in Christ, false gospels trap people in systems of control, shame, and guilt. But the Bible says:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2081\" data-end=\"2177\"><em data-start=\"2201\" data-end=\"2299\"><strong data-start=\"2202\" data-end=\"2298\">&#8220;For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><br data-start=\"2299\" data-end=\"2302\" \/>(<strong data-start=\"2303\" data-end=\"2320\">2 Timothy 1:7<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2323\" data-end=\"2371\">The true Gospel liberates \u2014 it does not enslave.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2323\" data-end=\"2371\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"2155\" data-end=\"2202\">3. False Gospels Produce False Converts<\/h4>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2204\" data-end=\"2375\">Jesus warned:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2204\" data-end=\"2375\"><strong data-start=\"2220\" data-end=\"2354\"><em data-start=\"2222\" data-end=\"2352\">&#8220;Not everyone who says to Me, \u2018Lord, Lord,\u2019 shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.&#8221; <\/em><\/strong>(<strong data-start=\"2358\" data-end=\"2374\">Matthew 7:21<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2377\" data-end=\"2604\">Responding to a distorted gospel may lead to a false assurance of salvation.<br data-start=\"2453\" data-end=\"2456\" \/><strong data-start=\"2456\" data-end=\"2536\">A false gospel cannot produce true faith, true repentance, or the new birth.<\/strong><br data-start=\"2536\" data-end=\"2539\" \/>Many who profess faith under a false gospel are sadly still lost.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"2611\" data-end=\"2682\">\u00a0<\/h4>\n<h4 data-start=\"2611\" data-end=\"2682\">4. False Gospels Hinder Spiritual Growth and Bear No True Fruit<\/h4>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2684\" data-end=\"2755\">Believers caught in false teachings often lack real spiritual maturity. Instead of bearing the <strong data-start=\"2780\" data-end=\"2803\">fruit of the Spirit<\/strong> \u2014 love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control \u2014 they are trapped in cycles of pride, insecurity, legalism, or worldliness.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2975\" data-end=\"3039\"><strong data-start=\"2975\" data-end=\"3018\"><em data-start=\"2977\" data-end=\"3016\">&#8220;You will know them by their fruits.&#8221; <\/em><\/strong>(<strong data-start=\"3022\" data-end=\"3038\">Matthew 7:16<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3041\" data-end=\"3270\">Followers of false gospels will <strong data-start=\"3073\" data-end=\"3103\">never bear the true fruits<\/strong> that only the Holy Spirit can produce.<br data-start=\"3142\" data-end=\"3145\" \/>(See also: <a href=\"https:\/\/answeringtoday.com\/what-is-the-fruit-of-the-holy-spirit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>&#8220;What is The Fruit of the Holy Spirit&#8221;<\/strong><\/a>)<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3277\" data-end=\"3337\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"3277\" data-end=\"3337\">5. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'&#8221; <\/em><\/strong>(<strong data-start=\"3518\" data-end=\"3531\">John 14:6<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3534\" data-end=\"3553\">As we always say:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"3554\" data-end=\"3646\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3556\" data-end=\"3646\"><strong data-start=\"3556\" data-end=\"3646\">Religion cannot save you \u2014 but it can dramatically send your soul to the second death.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3648\" data-end=\"3759\">It\u2019s not enough to be religious.<br data-start=\"3680\" data-end=\"3683\" \/>It\u2019s not enough to be sincere.<br data-start=\"3713\" data-end=\"3716\" \/>Only the true Gospel of Jesus Christ saves.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8628702 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"8628702\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-903e5d5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"903e5d5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 data-start=\"3766\" data-end=\"3782\">Final Thought:<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3784\" data-end=\"3797\">The Lord Jesus warned:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3799\" data-end=\"4210\"><strong data-start=\"3799\" data-end=\"4186\"><em data-start=\"3801\" data-end=\"4184\">&#8220;Not everyone who says to Me, &#8216;Lord, Lord,&#8217; shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.<br data-start=\"3929\" data-end=\"3932\" \/>Many will say to Me in that day, &#8216;Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?&#8217;<br data-start=\"4081\" data-end=\"4084\" \/>And then I will declare to them, &#8216;I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!&#8217;\u201d <\/em><\/strong>(<strong data-start=\"4190\" data-end=\"4209\">Matthew 7:21\u201323<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"4212\" data-end=\"4408\">These people <strong data-start=\"4225\" data-end=\"4253\">appeared to be believers<\/strong> \u2014 some were even miracle workers. <strong data-start=\"4290\" data-end=\"4309\">Just like today<\/strong>, false teachers perform signs and wonders, convincing many that they must be true servants of God. But sadly, despite all their efforts, <strong data-start=\"4448\" data-end=\"4472\">they did not make it<\/strong>. Why? Because as Jesus continued in <strong data-start=\"4513\" data-end=\"4532\">Matthew 7:24\u201327<\/strong>, they were like the foolish man who built his house on the sand:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"4602\" data-end=\"4777\"><strong data-start=\"4602\" data-end=\"4652\">They heard the Word \u2014 but they never lived it.<\/strong><br data-start=\"4652\" data-end=\"4655\" \/>Perhaps because they heard a <strong data-start=\"4686\" data-end=\"4702\">false gospel<\/strong>, and they never truly built their lives on the solid Rock of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"4779\" data-end=\"4953\">That is why we must be <strong data-start=\"4802\" data-end=\"4822\">keenly observant<\/strong>. Earlier in Matthew 7:15\u201320, Jesus told us to be <strong data-start=\"4874\" data-end=\"4891\">fruit finders<\/strong> \u2014 not just to listen to words, but to <strong data-start=\"4930\" data-end=\"4952\">look for the fruit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"4955\" data-end=\"5191\">Only true believers, walking in the true gospel, will bear the <strong data-start=\"5018\" data-end=\"5051\">true fruit of the Holy Spirit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5193\" data-end=\"5276\">And finally, let us never forget the strong and sobering words of the Apostle Paul:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5278\" data-end=\"5792\"><strong data-start=\"5278\" data-end=\"5768\"><em data-start=\"5280\" data-end=\"5766\">&#8220;I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel \u2014 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.<br data-start=\"5495\" data-end=\"5498\" \/>But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.<br data-start=\"5625\" data-end=\"5628\" \/>As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.&#8221; <\/em><\/strong>(<strong data-start=\"5772\" data-end=\"5791\">Galatians 1:6\u20139<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5794\" data-end=\"5866\"><strong data-start=\"5794\" data-end=\"5866\">Let us cling to the true Gospel.
