And just like any healthy family, we are commanded to love one another, serve one another, and build each other up\u2014\u201cuntil we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God\u201d<\/em> (Ephesians 4:13<\/em>).<\/p>\n

But here’s something crucial: we cannot<\/strong> do it alone.<\/p>\n

In our walk as believers, we need each other. And because God knows this, the Holy Spirit equips each and every one of us<\/strong> with spiritual gifts. These are not random talents. These are intentional tools<\/strong> given by God to fulfill our individual parts in building up the Body of Christ.<\/p>\n

Jesus is the foundation.<\/em>

1. It Is by Grace Alone That We Are Able to Serve God<\/h4>\n

We don\u2019t earn our spiritual gifts. We receive them purely because of God\u2019s grace.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain…\u201d<\/em> \u2014 1 Corinthians 15:10<\/em>
\u201cA man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.\u201d<\/em> \u2014 John 3:27<\/em>

These gifts were given to us not<\/strong> for our personal glory, but so that we may serve the Church. And just like in the Parable of the Talents<\/em> (Matthew 25:14\u201330<\/em>), if we bury our gift or neglect it, we might lose it. Do you know someone who once had an incredible gift, but they neglected it\u2014and now it\u2019s gone? It happens.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, if you desire a gift\u2014ask. Who knows? The Holy Spirit may give it to you, especially if you are faithful with what you already have. Remember, in the same parable, the master gave the one talent of the unfaithful servant to the one who had five and made it ten.<\/p>\n

Still, we must understand that it is the prerogative of the Holy Spirit<\/strong> which gift He will give us. \u201cOne and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.\u201d<\/em> \u2014 1 Corinthians 12:11<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    This writer can testify: over time, I discovered more gifts as I kept on asking God, serving in small things, and trying new roles in the Church. But here\u2019s the warning\u2014don\u2019t pretend to have a gift you don\u2019t actually have.<\/strong> That can be disastrous.<\/p>\n

    We\u2019ve seen it happen\u2014pastors who take the title but do not have the shepherd\u2019s heart. Teachers who cannot communicate clearly. Singers who don\u2019t really have the voice. The Body suffers when gifts are misused.<\/p>\n

    Let me tell you about my friend Willie. Assign him to teach, and he will decline\u2014firmly and repeatedly. But give him a task in helps and ministry, and he will shine with joy and excellence. That\u2019s his gift! And that\u2019s what we must all do\u2014honor the gifts of others<\/strong>, and stay faithful in our own calling<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

          Your spiritual gifts were never meant to be hidden in your house or used only for yourself. They were meant to build the Church<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

          Let me remind you: the Church\u2014your brothers and sisters in Christ\u2014is under constant attack. We are surrounded by darkness, confusion, and spiritual warfare. That\u2019s why we need each other.<\/strong> We need your gift.<\/p>\n

          And if you have stepped back from ministry, return<\/strong>. God’s calling is irrevocable<\/em> (Romans 11:29<\/em>). He can still use you. He wants<\/em> to use you. Are you in?<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
