God is perfectly loving\u2014but He is also perfectly holy and just. If He were to overlook sin, He would violate His own righteousness. His justice demands that sin be punished. His holiness demands separation from sin. But His love desires to save. It is where His holiness embraced His love. It is the only place where sinners can be made right with a holy God\u2014not by their efforts, but by the finished work of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2662\" data-end=\"2780\"><strong data-start=\"2662\" data-end=\"2780\">What a divine masterpiece of salvation! This Is How the Lord Jesus Satisfied God\u2019s Righteous Judgment at the Cross<\/h4>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"358\" data-end=\"642\">The crucifixion was not merely a Roman execution\u2014it was the most brutal and shameful form of punishment ever devised. First developed by the Persians and later perfected by the Romans, crucifixion was deliberately designed to inflict maximum suffering over an extended period of time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"644\" data-end=\"1223\">The condemned was first scourged with a whip embedded with metal and bone, tearing through flesh and muscle. Then, forced to carry a heavy crossbeam, they were paraded through the streets in humiliation. Upon reaching the execution site, large nails\u2014more like spikes\u2014were driven through the wrists and feet, crushing nerves and sending waves of unbearable pain throughout the body. As the victim hung, they struggled to breathe, pushing up on pierced feet just to draw air\u2014only to collapse again in exhaustion. It was a slow, excruciating death by suffocation, agony, and trauma.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h5 data-start=\"1225\" data-end=\"1261\"><strong data-start=\"1225\" data-end=\"1261\">This is the death Jesus endured.<\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1263\" data-end=\"1711\">The Son of the Living God <strong><em data-start=\"1289\" data-end=\"1522\">\u201cmade Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross\u201d<\/em> (Philippians 2:7\u20138).<\/strong> He paid the price that we should have paid. He bore the punishment that satisfied God\u2019s righteous judgment. And through His suffering, He redeemed us once and for all.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1713\" data-end=\"1802\">This was not unexpected. It was foretold hundreds of years earlier by the prophet Isaiah:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1804\" data-end=\"2293\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1806\" data-end=\"2293\"><strong><em data-start=\"1806\" data-end=\"2271\">\u201cHe is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.<br data-start=\"1887\" data-end=\"1890\" \/>And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.<br data-start=\"1979\" data-end=\"1982\" \/>Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows;<br data-start=\"2039\" data-end=\"2042\" \/>Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.<br data-start=\"2104\" data-end=\"2107\" \/>But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities;<br data-start=\"2186\" data-end=\"2189\" \/>The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><br data-start=\"2271\" data-end=\"2274\" \/><strong><em data-start=\"2276\" data-end=\"2293\">(Isaiah 53:3\u20135)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2295\" data-end=\"2307\">And further:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2309\" data-end=\"2557\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2311\" data-end=\"2557\"><strong><em data-start=\"2311\" data-end=\"2536\">\u201cYet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief.<br data-start=\"2376\" data-end=\"2379\" \/>When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,<br data-start=\"2474\" data-end=\"2477\" \/>And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><br data-start=\"2536\" data-end=\"2539\" \/><strong><em data-start=\"2541\" data-end=\"2557\">(Isaiah 53:10)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2559\" data-end=\"2719\">These verses reveal that the suffering of Jesus was not a tragic accident\u2014it was a divine appointment. It was God&#8217;s will to crush Him so that we might be saved.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2721\" data-end=\"2994\">And yet, the cross is not a symbol of weakness. It is the greatest demonstration of divine power the world has ever known.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2721\" data-end=\"2994\"><strong><em data-start=\"2844\" data-end=\"2972\">\u201cFor the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God\u201d<\/em> (1 Corinthians 1:18).<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f689845 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"f689845\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2c909fc elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2c909fc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4 data-start=\"110\" data-end=\"183\">3. It Has Been God\u2019s Plan All Along for the Redemption of Mankind<\/h4>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"185\" data-end=\"722\">When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they broke their fellowship with God and brought a curse upon themselves. Yet even then, God did not abandon humanity. Because of His great mercy, we see that He already had a plan to restore what sin had broken. He gave the first prophecy of redemption: <strong><em data-start=\"488\" data-end=\"629\">\u201cI will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel\u201d<\/em> (Genesis 3:15).<\/strong> This foretold the virgin birth and the ultimate victory of Jesus over Satan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"724\" data-end=\"1277\">God knew\u2014even before creating man\u2014that he would sin. Yet He chose to create us anyway. He could have prevented the fall by not creating man at all, or by assigning an angel to guard the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But He didn\u2019t, because He loves us and values our free will. And even before the foundation of the world, He had already prepared the plan of redemption through His Son. <strong><em data-start=\"1120\" data-end=\"1171\">\u201cThe Lamb slain from the foundation of the world\u201d<\/em> (Revelation 13:8)<\/strong> reminds us that this was not an afterthought\u2014<strong>it was God\u2019s plan from the very beginning.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"724\" data-end=\"1277\">Fast forward to the New Testament, when Jesus began to reveal to His disciples that He must suffer, be betrayed, and killed in Jerusalem, Peter strongly objected. But Jesus did not commend Peter\u2019s concern. Instead, He rebuked him and said, <strong><em data-start=\"922\" data-end=\"1011\">\u201cGet behind Me, Satan! You are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men\u201d<\/em> (Matthew 16:23).<\/strong> That powerful statement reveals something profound: the plan of the cross was not optional\u2014it was ordained by God. Jesus also foretold His death in other moments (Matthew 17:22-23, Luke 18:31-33), and each time, He made it clear that this was necessary.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0e7c06a elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"0e7c06a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-41b0232 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"41b0232\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4 data-start=\"154\" data-end=\"210\">4. A Merciful Provision in a Righteous Law<\/h4>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"442\" data-end=\"672\">While God established His law to uphold His holiness and justice, He also made room for His grace and mercy. In His righteousness, He demanded that sin must be judged. But in His love, He provided a way for sinners to be redeemed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"674\" data-end=\"1044\">God, in His mercy, included a powerful provision in His holy law that opened the door for forgiveness: <strong><em data-start=\"777\" data-end=\"877\">\u201cFor the life of the flesh is in the blood\u2026 for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul\u201d<\/em> (Leviticus 17:11)<\/strong>. This Old Testament principle became the foundation of the sacrificial system, where animals were offered as substitutes for the sins of the people.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1046\" data-end=\"1393\">But even then, those sacrifices could only <em data-start=\"1089\" data-end=\"1096\">cover<\/em> sin\u2014they could never <em data-start=\"1118\" data-end=\"1126\">remove<\/em> it completely (<em data-start=\"1142\" data-end=\"1160\">see Hebrews 10:4<\/em>). It was God\u2019s grace that allowed for this temporary solution until the perfect and final sacrifice\u2014Jesus Christ\u2014would come. Without this divine provision, we would all be condemned, for there would be no way to receive forgiveness.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1395\" data-end=\"1564\">You see, God already knew we would fall. Yet, in love, He wove this redemptive thread into the very fabric of His law\u2014with us in mind.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1395\" data-end=\"1564\"><strong>What we could never do, <\/strong><em data-start=\"1554\" data-end=\"1563\"><strong>God<\/strong> did<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-52bf4a5 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"52bf4a5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3c8adf1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3c8adf1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4 data-start=\"3119\" data-end=\"3167\">5. The Perfect Sacrifice Could Only Be Jesus<\/h4>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3169\" data-end=\"3429\">Even with God\u2019s redemptive plan and the provision in the law, there still needed to be a perfect, sinless sacrifice. No man nor even an angel qualified, for all had sinned. <strong>Only Jesus, the eternal Son of God, was worthy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3431\" data-end=\"3940\">And Jesus <em data-start=\"3441\" data-end=\"3452\">willingly<\/em> offered Himself. <strong><em data-start=\"3470\" data-end=\"3571\">\u201cI lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself\u201d<\/em> (John 10:17-18).<\/strong> He chose to leave His glory in heaven, take on the form of a servant, and be obedient unto death\u2014even death on the cross (Philippians 2:6\u20138). Why? Because of His great love for us.
